As a professional photographer, every shoot is different.
One day you could be working in a busy city centre, the next on a remote hillside, at a wedding venue or running a photography workshop.
Wherever your work takes you, taking a few minutes to complete a simple health and safety risk assessment can help protect you, your clients and members of the public. Many commercial clients and venues will also ask to see a risk assessment before a shoot begins.
A risk assessment doesn’t need to be complicated.
It’s simply about identifying potential hazards, considering who could be affected and putting sensible measures in place to reduce the risk. This might include trip hazards from camera bags or lighting stands, working near water, using drones, photographing on uneven ground or managing members of the public during a workshop.
If you’re guiding photography tours or workshops, carrying out a risk assessment becomes even more important, helping you demonstrate that you’ve considered the safety of everyone attending.
At H2A Creatives, we understand the realities of working as a professional photographer because our insurance has been designed specifically for creative professionals. That’s why we’re pleased to provide a FREE Risk Assessment Template to our professional photography/ videography clients, helping you meet client requirements and work with confidence.
If you’d like a copy, simply get in touch, we’ll be happy to send one to you.
