h2a creatives core cover for website designers includes:
- Creative and Business equipment:
Including laptops, desktops and screens, and associated equipment. - Personal Belongings:
Your own personal effects. - Public Liability:
Anyone can make a claim against you if, during the course of your business activities if someone feels they or their property has been injured or damaged. - Professional Indemnity:
Sometimes mistakes happen which might result in your client incurring a financial loss. It could be that you breach your contract, or not meeting a strict deadline which means a product launch is missed. Professional Indemnity will provide you with legal defence costs and a settlement should the client win their action against you.
At h2a creatives we think this is the basic amount of cover you should have to protect your yourself and your business and that is why our core policy quote includes these sections of cover. If you disagree and wish to de-select the PI or Equipment you can do just this through the quotation stage.
Not all businesses are the same however so we have some additional covers that you may need now or in the future. Worried that you are unsure whether you need them? Drop us a note through the online chat below and we will be happy to discuss your concerns with you.
Additional covers available:

- Business Interruption: If your business is interrupted following a material damage loss we will cover your potential increased cost of working.
- Travel: Your projects take you overseas? No worries we will extent your equipment abroad together with the benefits of Travel insurance.
- Employers Liability: If you have employees or volunteers maybe working with you on a project we will ensure that your liability to your employees is covered.

web designers frequently ask these questions:
Your equipment need to be insured whilst in the studio and out visiting clients. Without your equipment; your tools of trade, you are unable to work so seek an Insurer who replaces new for old and has a speedy claims process. In addition, you should purchase public liability, definitely.
This is because in the majority of circumstances your work will involve third parties or working on third party premises, or people visiting you if you have your own studio. For this reason, we would advise that you insure your legal liability to these people. We would then also advise personal accident cover.
It is so common that self employed freelancers and business owners do not think about what would happen if an accident prevented them from working for a short time. For creatives, this is an important consideration.
This is where having personal accident cover can help you. Whilst it will pay a fixed benefit for the injury dependent on it’s severity, it can also provide a loss of earnings benefit helping you to bridge the gap whilst you get back to working again.
Then, are you using volunteers to help with a project maybe? Or do you have full time or part time employees? If you do it is mandatory through UK law that you carry employers liability insurance. This is the one type of insurance it is illegal to avoid.
Aside of these covers you may have a studio so assets within your studio will require cover. We may need to consider your Loss of Earnings if the studio is subject to claim and then we can also consider Travel cover if you are working overseas.
Finally, there are considerations for financial loss covers and for this, if you have a limited company you may like to consider Directors & Officers insurance and Professional Indemnity if you are advising as part of your contract with your client.
There is a lot to consider here; h2a creatives & media are always available if you wish to discuss this at all.
Yes, simply you are because your PI cover with us would cover you for your defence costs to defend a claim. The client would need to demonstrate an economic loss because you are late with the website, but if they can then yes it would be a valid claim against you and h2a would respond on your behalf.
Of course! We will cover you whatever stage of the journey you are, from start-ups and freelance web designers to established developer businesses, h2a creatives & media are here to provide protection.
